Where family and friends come together in the wild.
Mark’s Camp lies deep within Lalibela Game Reserve, overlooking its own watering hole. Due to its many child-friendly chalets and fenced perimeter, it is the perfect setting for an unforgettable family safari. Days at Mark’s Camp are spent relaxing at the pool or tanning out on the sundeck that overlooks the watering hole. Moreover, the guest lounge also provides various ways for families and new-found friends to bond. Books, board games and a roaring fireplace promise a cosy refuge from a day spent in the bush on Big 5 game drives.
Mark’s Camp Accommodation
Mark’s Camp houses eight stone-and-thatch chalets. There are four standard chalets that sleep two adults as well as three family chalets that sleep two adults and two children under 12. Additionally, Mark’s Camp also has one family suite that sleeps six adults in two en-suite bathrooms and a sleeper lounge. All chalets at Mark’s Camp come equipped with an en-suite bathroom, air-conditioning and a ceiling fan. Meals are enjoyed at either the cosy indoor dining area or the outdoor boma complete with fireplace.
Soft Walking Safaris
The Lalibela “Big 5 area” expanded in size and Lalibela acquired an extra 2,000 hectares of land adjacent to the existing 5 area. As a result, Lalibela now possesses an untainted wilderness range which they plan to use as a breeding area and for reintroducing endemic game species to the Eastern Cape. They’ve introduced “soft” walking safaris in this newly established predator-free zone. This breeding area offers a more relaxed “on foot” safari experience for the whole family where you can get up close and personal with game such as zebra, giraffe, warthog and various antelope in a safe environment.
