Discover a place where time stands still. A place for contemplation and adventure.
Tucked away near picturesque Stanford, Mosaic Private Sanctuary is the Cape’s answer to the luxury African sanctuary lodge. Lose yourself somewhere between ocean, lagoon and the glistening Maanskynkop mountains. Like its name suggests, this 933-hectare property offers the fortunate few a truly multifaceted guest experience. After a spot of bird watching from the seclusion of your verandah, head down the boardwalk for a hearty breakfast in the intimate dining room. Amongst the continental options, expect freshly baked muffins, farm butter, sumptuous fruit platters and homemade jams. Hot fare is prepared to order and, as with all meals, is made with love – built around fresh, seasonal and regionally sourced ingredients.
The Lagoon Lodge has 5 safari-style chalets hidden amongst ancient milkwood trees on the edge of the Hermanus Lagoon. Dinner, B&B are included. Four self-catering cottages are also available near the historic 1892 Spookhuis, where a variety of food options are available.
Location sets Mosaic Farm apart from all others. On the edge of the Hermanus Lagoon, Mosaic expands to a secluded part of the pristine Walker Bay Beach and Nature Reserve, the best place in the world for whale watching. You can enjoy sunset cruises on the lagoon, beach excursions in an open 4×4; quad biking on Mosaic’s 933 hectares; kayaking, and guided nature walks and bird watching.
Taste the flavor of award winning Cape wines on sundown beach excursions, on our pontoon boat or from our private cellar in the historic 1892 Spookhuis Country Café.
Mosaic is centrally located to take in area activities such as shark cage diving, whale watching, Klipgat Archeological Cave (stone-age), and the wine regions of Hemel-en-Aarde and Walker Bay.

Mosaic Private Sanctuary Reviews
“Very nice place to stay if you like nature. Quiet, stunning mountain and lagoon vistas and the drive to the beach was really great! An abandoned beach with stunning sand dunes… Really one of our highlights of our South Africa trip. We stayed at the Mosaic self catering cottages.” –NLMaaike
“What a place, the Lagoon Lodges were fantastic with your own outside shower, fireplace and veranda all with the most incredible backdrop and setting imaginable. Fully included in our stay was the activities, the expedition to the beach, the quad biking and the sunset cruise on the lagoon. Friendly staff with Gibson that looked after us, hoteliers you can see take pride in creating a genuine experience for their guests. A magical place to start your exploration up the Garden Route or before you return to Cape Town.” –CapeTownTravelafrica
“Mosaic Lagoon Lodge was our last stop on our honeymoon in SA. We spent 3 nights here and it was the perfect end to the most amazing trip! When we arrived we were given a warm welcome with homemade ice tea and we knew we were in for a treat as we took in the gorgeous views of the lagoon and mountains. We were shown around the lodge and introduced to our room, which was perfect. The way this place is set up is unlike anything else we had ever seen. It was such a unique place – everything from the view, the decor, to the cottages, to the actual lodge was executed brilliantly. We loved every minute of staying here. My husband and I loved the activities..” –ssararo
