Fransvliet Guest House – A spectacular Guest House in Franschhoek
Why Choose Us For Your Accomodation in Franschhoek?
Our guest house in Franschhoek is situated on a working farm, growing grapes, olives and figs. Wake up to the call of the birds and in the evening perhaps hear the resident owls calling as they contemplate the night’s hunt. Breathtaking mountain views are all around, each one more spectacular than the last. The individually decorated suites are pure luxury, with absolute attention to detail. Soft wineland colours set the tone for a perfect stay.
Breakfast is an occasion, every day. Spend time in the newly renovated 65 year old house, either inside or on the veranda, enjoying the view of the pool and the vineyards. Celebrate “the best meal of the day” with either a Continental or a full breakfast that will include seasonal specials.
The sparkling pool is at your disposal for those hot lazy afternoons. Relax in the shade with a magazine and an ice cold drink, before you cool off. Lazy winter days are a treat too. Snuggle up in your suite in a comfy armchair with your own personal fireplace – the perfect way to enjoy one of the local bottles of red wine.
Meander through the garden, (both indigenous and other) on your way to your suite. Something special will be flowering at all times. In season, luscious figs will be found on the trees, and the scent of lemons may be in the air too. Take an early morning walk around the farm in December. The vines will be green and laden with fruit. In July, a few burgundy coloured leaves and bare sticks have their own attraction. Soak up the 360° view, especially the powerful Simonsberg mountains at our beautiful accomodation in Franschhoek.
The Fransvliet Guest House is a tranquil, luxury retreat, only 4 kilometres from the heart of Franschhoek.

Fransvliet Guest House Breakfast
An exceptional breakfast can easily be the best meal of the day. Take your time over a chilled “health shot” of freshly prepared seasonal fruit and vegetable juice. The Cape is world famous for stone fruits, melons, berries, apples and pears. All so fresh, that even the smell is different. Many of the fruits and vegetables are grown right here, on the farm. Yoghurts, homemade muesli and cereals are followed by either a superb Continental spread or a full breakfast that could include Eggs Benedict, Fresh Ham products from a neighbouring area, Asparagus with a poached egg or the Valley’s best Smoked Salmon Trout. Naturally this is followed by muffins, pastries and homemade preserves. Real coffee and a variety of teas are served.
Run by renowned foodie, Shirley Guy – owner of one of South Africa’s most successful cookery schools and author of several best selling cookery books – breakfasts are sure to always be a treat!

Fransvliet Guest House Reviews
“We loved to stay @ Fransvliet B&B, Shirley and Victor were kind hosts and tried to fulfill every wish. Very good idea is the “special of the day” they offer at the breakfast. A new warm course every day with vegetables, variations from egg, ham, etc. We liked it.”-Lorenzma_Germany
“Everything was perfect, Shirley is the best “Landlady”, very helpful, it was always a pleasure to talk with her and her breakfast is absolutly the best we ever had in a B&B. The staff is very friendly. Thank you to everbody.”-Doris S
“Lovely place to stay. While it is outside the main town there is plenty of good food and wine within walking distance (e.g. moreson, la motte, la maison). Rooms are a good size and very comfortable with great bathroom. Great breakfast included.”-catsabroad
