Botlierskop Village Lodge Is A Stellar Getaway On A Historical Farmstead, Offering Relaxation, Incredible Views And Comfortable Lodging!
With the magnificent Outeniqua Mountain Range serving as a backdrop, on a farm called Kleinvlei, is Botlierskop Village Lodge. Kleinvlei was purchased by Botlierskop Game Reserve in 2016, with its name coming from the wetlands around the area. The surrounds are historically important with Friemersheim, a mission station and slave quarter situated nearby. The farm has a large dam that provides wonderful views with stunning herb and vegetable gardens surrounding it. Guests are lodged in contemporary or classic houses, with some houses dating as far back as the 1800s.
Accommodation
Botlierskop Village Lodge is comprised of 13 Double Rooms and three Family Units. The houses are individually named and decorated offering a unique holiday perfect for a selection of travellers! Rooms range from Standard, to Luxury, Superior and Family. All rooms come with air-conditioning, coffee and tea making facilities, an outdoor patio and full guest amenities, such as a gown and slippers.
Around The Village
The expansive herb and vegetable gardens are laid out in a wagon-wheel formation with central focal dams Watermollen (Watermill) and Perdedam (Horse Dam) – also known as Grootdrink of Dors (Large Drink or Thirsty). The water flows past the houses in a series of canals. The abundant fresh produce that’s lovingly coaxed from these gardens supplies the popular Bellevue Restaurant, formerly the district’s school house. Local legend has it that one of the last pupils of The Bellevue School in 1938 maintained that Kleinvlei had one of the strongest athletics team of all the rural schools in the area.
